All surrounds can be installed with any combination of flush or raised hearths, flat stock trim around the inside next to the firebox, overmantels. These are not included and are listed separately. Heights are adjustable by cutting the legs to length during installtion.
Image 3 shows the two materials, Gypsum (Other) and TraverStone (Stone). All items are available in either material. They may be pictured in either or both but each material is listed and sold separately. It is not just a matter of finish; they are two totally different products.
TraverStone- is a hand packed fiberglass reinforced Portland Cement based product which looks like natural stone. It does not require a finish of any type but can be stained for color and you may put a clear matte finish on it to protect it from staining. The color is Sahara Sand which is designed to match tumbled travertine. There is a 5% up-charge for custom colors. I do not sell optional colors other than Western White which requires pure white silica sand, Hearth Co, Inc. stocks in small quantities. Otherwise you can obtain the shade you want by tinting the Sahara Sand color. I don’t sell the optional colors because we can not guarantee a color match. It is made of natural occurring stone material and each piece takes the staining differently. Products ordered in TraverStone will have random occurring distress marks. This is as it is supposed to be. They will vary in size as they would appear in a natural stone product. A patch material is provided to fill holes drilled in the product during install and this can be used to fill or make the marks smaller if you like. It is very common to have such marks at the bottom front edge of the hearth which sits on the floor. The hearth edges do not show if carpet butts up to the hearth or when you add the bead of silicone caulk around the hearth for tile or wood floors. Distress marks are not considered defects. It is like ordering knotty pine cabinets, you should expect knots and they may not be where you want them or the size you want, they are naturally random in occurrence.
Gypsum (also referred to as Paint Grade) is a fiberglass reinforced gypsum product which is has a smooth finish. It is similar to plaster but harder. It must be painted to seal the pores. It does not need to be heat resistant.
